Croatia’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 5.8% in April 2026, up from 4.8% in March, according to preliminary estimates. This is the highest rate recorded since October 2023. The increase was driven primarily by a sharp rise in energy prices, which jumped 17.5% amid the conflict in the Middle East. Prices of food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 3.5%, while service prices increased by 8.2%. In contrast, prices of non-energy industrial goods declined by 0.6%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed 1.5% in April, the strongest monthly increase since September 2022, following a 1.4% rise in March.
